4. What we expect from you?
Here are some of our basic requirements:
-
An excellent command over the language and the ability to speak with native fluency.
-
The skills to translate perfectly from English into the respective language.
A pleasant voice that is suitable for the narration of our stories.
5. How does the “AddMyLanguage” process work?
Overview of the “AddMyLanguage” process:
-
You select a story and inform us about the language in which you want to translate and record it. If we are not already in the process of producing it in that language, we will be glad to use your help.
We will send you the story text in English. You will translate the story into your language under some simple BookBox guidelines and send us your translation for our approval.
You will then digitally record your narration of the story at home or in a studio. We expect the narration and recording to be of a reasonably good quality and at a pace that is similar to the English narration of the same story. It would be a good idea to record the story in parts as it is easier to do a better job of narrating it in bits. We will clearly mark the story parts for recording so that each section can be recorded in a separate file. This way there will be no pressure to get the entire story recorded at a single go and you can rerecord each piece separately till it measures up to our expectations.
After you send us your audio files, we will piece them together, mix them with the music track, and finally create our BookBox story in your language.
You will be the first to receive, enjoy and share our BookBox story in your language with your family and friends before it goes up on BookBox.com.
To get started please send an e-mail to AddMyLanguage@BookBox.com and get an approval from BookBox for the language and story that you would like to translate and/or narrate. Our AddMyLanguage coordinator will work closely with you through a fairly simple process.
Terms and Conditions:
All forms of copyright for any type of contribution to BookBox like translation and/or narration will be owned solely by BookBox.

The payments will be made on an annual basis after the launch of the story, subject to a minimum amount of USD 25. However, BookBox will assess the sales every 6 months and if the revenue that is to be shared crosses USD 25, BookBox will clear the amount due at the end of the sixth month.
-
BookBox will give credit to the translators and narrators at the end of each story as per its current practice. However, BookBox reserves the right to change the design of its stories without any prior notice.
